Board Game of the Month Camel Up

Board Game of the Month: Camel Up

We love game night. Thanks to Eggertspiele, one of the best board game publishers (in our opinion), we received a picture via email of one of their most popular games: Camel Up. Check out the above image and read about how fun this game is in today’s blog post. Thinking about hosting a game night in your Arrive Buckhead apartment in Atlanta, Georgia? Make sure you add this great family-friendly game to the agenda. You won’t regret it!

Camel Up is a fun betting game for 2 to 8 players. During the game, players will bet on five racing camels, attempting to figure out which one will come in first, last, and try to push their odds throughout the race. The earlier you bet, the more you’ll be rewarded—but be careful! Betting too early could cost you the game.

It’s easy to learn yet challenging. Which camel is going to move and how far? Which one will carry others across the finish line? Which player will risk it all by betting early?

With less than 30-minutes of play per game and hilarious mechanics like stacking the camels on top of each other, this is a board game for everyone. The betting mechanics are so simple that even a young child can join in the fun (they’ll love the stacking mechanism probably even more than you!).

Okay. Maybe we forgot to mention the cool little pyramid in the picture above. Looks neat, right? Well, it is. It’s really cool actually. This pyramid is filled with dice during the game. Simply flip it over and release a sliding mechanism to roll the dice. This dice-chamber-rolling-mechanism is clever and fits the theme of the game. It can be a little tricky putting together though—we’ve even heard of people actually breaking it while putting it together—but luckily, we didn’t find it too difficult. Thankfully, the game comes with illustrated instructions to help you out.
